Welcome to Hands On Charlotte!
Winter Coat Drive Back To Main

Contribute to a Warming Trend!

Over the past 14 years, Hands On Charlotte has helped collect and distribute more than 65,000 gently worn coats through our annual Winter Coat Drive. We've been able to accomplish this with the help of schools, businesses, faith-based groups, civic groups, volunteers and supporters like you.
From January 8 to January 17, 2008, HOC will once again join forces with WSOC-TV to conduct Steve's Coats for Kids, a community-wide coat drive to benefit the clients of Crisis Assistance Ministry. Volunteers can contribute to the success of the drive by:
  • Organizing a coat drive at your office, school, or house of worship, and dropping off your donations at either Crisis Assistance Ministry or at WSOC-TV on the station's special delivery day of Wednesday, January 14.
  • Helping HOC collect coats from one of the Ashley Furniture drop-off sites throughout the region. (See more information below).
  • Donating your own gently worn coat.
The Coat Drive is truly a community initiative. Help us keep Charlotte warm and give yourself a warm feeling inside too!

Making Coat Drive Pick-Ups

Ashley Furniture Stores are primary drop-off locations for the Coat Drive. Below is a list of their store locations in the area. If you can make a pick up from one of the locations listed at least once during the Coat Drive (Jan. 8-17), click on the location you'd prefer and sign up on that web page. HOC will then contact you to schedule the time and date for a pickup.

Please remember, in addition to picking up the coats, we are asking that you count them and deliver them to Crisis Assistance Ministry.
