Welcome to Hands On Charlotte!
How to Get Started Back To Main

Hands On Charlotte recruits volunteers and then leads them in community service projects that we create and manage for the benefit of dozens of local nonprofit agencies, schools, neighborhoods, and community organizations.

GETTING STARTED:
ADULTS: All adult volunteers (18+ years of age) who want to participate in any of our ongoing volunteer projects must first attend a new volunteer orientation session. Orientation is not necessary for teenagers, or for adults who only wish to participate in Special Events or in our monthly BIG Project.

CHILDREN & TEENS: Youth between the ages of 13 and 18 can participate in our CharlotTEEN Youth volunteering program, which provides service opportunities specifically for teenagers. These teens do not have to attend an orientation before volunteering. Once they have registered on this web site, they can sign up for any project that contains the word "CharlotTEEN" in the project name. Youth under the age of 13, as well as teenagers who want to participate in non-CharlotTEEN projects, can only volunteer at those projects if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. Thus, the parent or guardian must attend a new volunteer orientation, and he/she can bring the child to the volunteer project if space permits.

ORIENTATIONS: In order to reserve a space at a Hands On Charlotte orientation, click on "Orientations & Other Meetings" in the main menu to the left. All orientations take place at the Hands On Charlotte office at 1616 Central Avenue Suite 200, unless noted below. If you sign up and then need to reschedule, please contact the Hands On Charlotte office, as we have a limited number of seats for each session.

If you have volunteered with Hands On Charlotte in the past you may not need to attend an orientation session. Please contact Doug at 704 333-7471 ext. 103 and ask for a password to activate your account.
