Guidelines for Hands On Charlotte Monthly Projects

Hands On Charlotte's projects for individual volunteers must meet the following guidelines.

    1. The partner agency must be a non-profit, neighborhood or public service organization with proper IRS status.

    2. Commitment: Hands On Charlotte's Flexible Volunteer Model allows volunteers to choose which projects they attend. We do not require volunteers to attend the same project for any length of time. If your program requires volunteers to make a commitment; then the project would be listed on this website.

    2. Time: most of our volunteers work Monday through Friday 9 am until 5 p.m., so most projects take place on weeknights or weekends.

    3. Group Involvement: projects must be organized for groups of 3 or more volunteers.

    4. Activities: no fundraising activities or clerical work.

    5. Frequency: At most once a week, usually once or twice a month

    6. Length: Weekday projects should be 2 hours or less; weekend projects should last a maximum of 3 hours.

    7. Children's Projects: we only work on structured activities; not babysitting.
