CharlotTEEN Youth Program
"Young people should be at the forefront
of global change and innovation. Empowered, they can be key
agents for development and peace. If, however, they are left
on society's margins, all of us will be impoverished. Let
us ensure that all young people have every opportunity to
participate fully in the lives of their societies."
Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan
How to Get Involved
Throughout the year CharlotTEEN offers a variety of service
projects and special events exclusively for teens. Volunteers
learn about relevant community issues and participate in service
projects that address relevant community issues. In order
to accommodate the busy lives of most youth, our service opportunities
are accessible and flexible. CharlotTEENs do NOT need to attend
an orientation, and they do NOT need to be accompanied by
a parent or guardian. CharlotTEEN projects are only available
for youth 14-18 years old. Volunteers that are not in high
school can volunteer with a parent at some of our regular
month projects. Hands On Charlotte is always seeking to add
family friendly projects to the calendar.
To join the fun and start volunteering with other teenagers
from the Charlotte area:
1. Register
with Hands On Charlotte and sign
into your account.
2. Search through our upcoming
projects and find one that interests you. You will instantly
receive an email confirmation for projects that you sign up
for, and three days prior to the project you will receive
an email with directions and instructions.
3. Bring a signed Youth Volunteer
Waiver Form with you to your first event (also available
on the project description page). If you have a community
service confirmation form that needs to be signed for school
requirements or club participation, please bring it with you
as well.
