Outside of our normal monthly projects (click
here to see them) we have several ways to volunteer, each program has
a unique focus.
Flexible Volunteering
Every month we offer over 100 project a month covering a wide variety of
volunteer opportunities within the Charlotte community. Our flexible volunteer
model means that most of our projects have no long term commitment or specialized
trainings. We encourage you to try several projects to find the right one
for you. Click

Hands On Skills
With our Skills Based Volunteer program, we work to match individuals with
specific skills sets to agencies in need. The types of skills can be anything,
the need in Charlotte's Non-Profits for skilled and professional volunteers
is great. Working with volunteers and agencies, we work to match the right
people with the right agency to meet everyone's needs. Click

Charlotteen Youth Program
(Ages 14-18)
If you're a teenager interested in performing community service
in Charlotte, then you're in the right place! Each month the CharlotTEEN
Youth Program coordinates service projects specifically designed for young
volunteers. Through the exploration of the significance, adequacy, and effectiveness
of what is being done to address these community issues, our teenage volunteers
will develop an ethic of giving, a sense of compassion, a hope for justice,
and a desire to become responsible citizens. We offer a variety of dates
and locations in hopes of engaging a diverse population of teens in volunteer
work throughout Charlotte! Click

Neighborhood Focus Initiative
In order to address urban poverty in one Charlotte Community
(Thomasboro-Hoskins) our AmeriCorps VISTA works to help build neighborhood
capacity by supporting and managing volunteer leadership development, supporting
outreach and helping create and expand programs with direct input from residents.
The purpose of this program is help provide sustainable solutions to under-served
communities. This is a pilot program which we hope to use in other low-resource
communities throughout Charlotte.
Hands on Schools
Hands On Charlotte - as part of a national effort by Hands
on Network to increase academic achievement in elementary, middle, and high
schools - is partnering with AmeriCorps and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools
to help volunteers and community partners make a difference in our schools.
