Current Projects
Hands On Charlotte leads volunteers in community service projects that
we create and manage for the benefit of dozens of local nonprofit agencies,
schools, neighborhoods, and community organizations.Once you have an account
with us and attended orientation (see below) you can sign up for projects
on our project
calendar
GETTING STARTED
Basic Volunteer Facts
- A long-term commitment is not required.
- Volunteer for as few or as many hours as you choose: evening or daytime,
weekends or weekdays, whatever your schedule allows.
- We have service projects for the whole family. These projects are designated
family-friendly
- Sample many different projects and find out which ones are right for
you.
- Long-term commitments and leadership roles are available. Just e-mail
us for more information.
ADULTS: All adult volunteers (18+ years of age) who want
to participate in any of our ongoing volunteer projects must first attend
a new volunteer orientation session. Orientation is not necessary for teenagers,
or for adults who only wish to participate in Special Events or in our monthly
BIG Project.
CHILDREN & TEENS: Youth between the ages of 14 and
19 can participate in our CharlotTEEN Youth volunteering program, which
provides service opportunities specifically for teenagers. These teens do
not have to attend an orientation before volunteering. Once they have registered
on this web site, they can sign up for any project that contains the word
"CharlotTEEN" in the project name. Youth under the age of 14,
as well as teenagers who want to participate in non-CharlotTEEN projects,
can only volunteer at those projects if they are accompanied by a parent
or guardian. Thus, the parent or guardian must attend a new volunteer orientation,
and he/she can bring the child to the volunteer project if space permits.
